Unhanded

Saturday night, our long-time pal Joey So had a gallery opening downtown Toronto. Kauf and I went to check it out.

His work is wonderful: a blend of watercolours, guaches and inks that he layers through a process he calls "reverse masking". Using all sorts of substrates to mask and apply the colours, he creates very organic and structured pieces.

I was incredibly impressed and inspired.

I took a bunch of photos of the growing crowd of minglers -- but no close-ups of the work!

Well I got the tat --. Even though he wasn't there, Paul Watling seems to know exactly how it went down. The pic is mere moments after the ink was done -- and seconds before the hair grew back in and covered it over.

wow -- new software is fun!!

Was recently exposed to art rage 2, it looks & feels pretty good. Here's my first sketch with it. Great -- as if i needed another reason to stay up all night.
